You will find Le Marche’s top beaches here including the “Blue Flag” ones, which will help to make your choice easier. The Foundation for Environmental Education gives the right to certain beaches to fly blue flags due to the high environmental standards and services those beaches provide.

Which ones do I like the best? My preferences are the wild beaches, similar to the ones in the Province of Ancona like Portonovo, Sirolo and Numana. Mid-season is the best time to go!
The summer beach: Le Marche coastal exploration
Begin your beach adventure in the north from Gabicce Mare. Located in the Mount San Bartolo Park, you will find white fine sand beaches with crystal-clear water.
Are you looking for a beach with great amenities close to town? Fano’s golden beach is the answer. It has a gently sloping seabed that slowly gets deeper, making it an ideal spot for kids.
As you move further south, you have to check out Senigallia where you will find extended miles of shoreline that is scattered with sporting facilities and beach establishments. This is a popular tourist spot every year.
Do you want an extra wide beach that is well equipped? The best options are Pesaro, Fano and Senigallia. These beaches are perfect for kids and there are also great entertainment spots for adults.

The Conero Riviera: my favorite beaches in Le Marche
A one of a kind spot on the Adriatic coast is the Conero Riviera. As I love wild beaches, this is one of my favorite coast areas. Besides the pebble and sand beaches, there are unique caves and spectacular coves hidden behind its famous promontory. In my opinion, Portonovo is a truly special beach located where Mount Conero meets crystal-clear water.
I stumbled across this beach by accident and instantly fell in love with it! To get a full appreciation of the unspoiled beaches on the Adriatic coast, you have to see them to believe it. The beaches here are ideal for aquatic sports such as windsurfing, SUP and canoeing.
On the north and south of Portonovo Bay, you will find the more popular beaches. They have great beach services, facilities and outstanding restaurants. The beach is accessible by vehicle via the road from the park that leads to the bay.
The only way to get to the Mezzavale is via steep paths or sea. If you go via the path, be sure to bring water and wear comfortable shoes. There are no amenities at this beach, only a small bar throughout the summer. This is one reason why this beach is so spectacular!
If you want an unspoiled, natural beauty, then the popular Due Sorelle (Two Sisters) Beach is a must. It is located in the Sirolo municipality. This area gets its name from the two twin reefs that arise from the water. The rounded stones seabed beach is reachable via the sea.
Get to the incredible San Michele beach by foot along the path that begins in the Parco della Repubblica di Sirolo. Beloved by naturalists, the unique Sassi Neri Beach is also in Sirolo close to the Due Sorelle.
As you keep going towards Numana, there is a stoking bay enclosed by a reef. The unspoiled Frati Beach (Spiaggia dei Frati) is known for its serene surroundings. This intriguing private beach is the ideal spot for snorkelers and couples.
Good restaurants, aperitifs and sports along the beach
As you get to Porto Recanati, enjoy a relaxing swim with a background of the Mount Conero remains. Coloured umbrellas cover various establishments along the shingle beaches. There are numerous restaurants on the seaside along with bars with a water view.
You get to Porto San Giorgio as you travel further south. These beaches are ideal for families and those who love summer sports like beach volleyball and soccer. The wide beaches provide tranquility and privacy along with the option to play other beach sports.
Numerous facilities are provided in Cupra Marittima and it is perfect for cyclists and families with kids. And above all, the coastal area is clean, wide and excellently maintained.
The pearl of the Palm Riviera, San Benedetto del Tronto is another coastal stretch of beach you have to see. It is one of the most popular tourist spots in the area and it provides a long sandy shore with modern beach establishments. This seaside spot has a tropical feel with its famous palms.
Le Marche: gorgeous beaches, heritage, tradition and exquisite food
Selecting a seaside vacation spot is more than the excellent services and gorgeous beaches. The people, culture, heritage and unique foods are also very important. Le Marche is an ideal blend of these features, giving it a distinctive identity. Most beach spots were formerly small fishing villages. There is a great historical story to be uncovered here. I highly recommend you explore the area.
The seaside area is easy to get to If you are traveling as a family or a couple. There are a number of choices for a total vacation, 100% Made in Marche!
The ecological area of the beaches is strictly protected inside the Conero Park. Below are a few of them to keep in mind!
- Never remove plants, white pebbles or other stones.
- This is strictly enforced on the wild beaches. Take your own bags so that you can take away your own garbage.
- Smokers have to properly dispose of cigarette butts so that they don’t get into the water or sand.
- Never camp outside the distinct area
- Don’t use campfires
- Hunting is forbidden
In my opinion, these rules should be standard for all beaches everywhere. So, it is important that we respect the environment so that everyone can enjoy nature and beautiful beaches.
The beaches in Le Marche will enchant you!
